Wish me luck tomorrow. I get to go before the judge tomorrow in Arlington County for a reckless driving ticket :(. I was busted going 60 in a 35, so that's a nice 25 miles over the limit.
My only good point is that I have +3 points on my license so hopefully the judge will look at that and maybe not beat up on me so much. I am also getting tons of references so that should help too.
Just figured I would let you all know what was up with Stkks ;).
Will let you all know the verdict tomorrow once I get back home if I come home :(...................

Good luck!
Make sure they have the radar FCC certificate with a current calibration, and the officer has a license to use radar. If not you can move to have it dismissed.

I will make sure of that, thanks.....
Ouch on that ticket buddy, hope you get you license back soon. I hope mine doesn't get yanked, can't afford to have that happen. If worse comes to worse I can hope for a restricted license. That way I can get to and from work.

Well I went to court yesterday for my reckless driving ticket. I was busted for driving 60 in a 35, so 25 over the limit. This was my first reckless ticket, and my record showed that I currently have +3 points on my license.
When my name was called I approached the bench, and plead guilty, the judge explained that this was a jail able offense. She in turn asked the officer if he was seeking jail time, which he was not thank god………
I did show her a copy of my driving record and several character reference letters. I also said that I would like to take the VA DMV driver improvement program to improve my record again.
She looked at all my stuff, and turned me over to the VA prosecutor. So, right now I have been court ordered to go and complete the “Driving Behavior Management Program” through Arlington County, VA. Which will start in February, and once I have completed that I will go back to court on the 8th of June. When I go back I will receive my sentence, at that point I hope the charges will be dropped.

Thanks, I need it. I also need to behave myself between now and my next court date. God I can't afford to get any type of ticket, that would look really bad if I was to get aother ticket. I think I will try and be grandma for the next 6 months in a very nice Grand Prix .
That's basically why I'm driving a Ford Explorer as my DD now. I haven't had a Virginia driver's license for a few years (licensed in Illinios right now) but plan on getting my Virginia license again in a couple months when all the points are finally off my Virginia license. I only did that because of the excessive penalties that were enacted but were rescended. Either way, you got off lucky. Most likely the charge will be reduced to speeding or dismissed altogether.
I'm glad to see that you caught a break. The driving courses aren't difficult. I've been 4 times :) I'm a pro now...
I wouldn't buy any lottery tickets this year, your luck is all used up!

Darn, I was going to get some tonight :(....... Yes, I got off lucky, the judge was very nice to me. I think the charges will be dropped or at least dropped to a moving violation instead.
I can handle a moving violation instead, I have more to lose with a reckless. I work for the government, and have things that reckless driving charges can jepordize.
I took a long time ago the VA driver improvement course. But this is supposed to be a lot different than the one that is offered throught VA DMV. So we shall see, I will let you all know what it is like when I go for my first class on the 3rd of February.

Fairly painless so far.
Just remember when you go through the driving course that your not on an autocross track. Safety is what they're looking for.
Good luck with the sentencing.
