Thinking about leaving these out for a while and building a rear seat delete.
Saves about 45lbs.
Vacation time so I guess I'm bored.

my friend did that in his, i'd say build a flat box design and carpet it to replace where the seats used to be....

Got some 1/4" oak today and started the templet for the lower seats portion. Thought it was getting to late for the neighbors to finish cutting the wood.

No luck on getting the carpet yet. I'm searching the Mach boards for some help.

Pretty much got everything done today. It actually looks pretty good with just the black primer I painted the wood.

Gotta go buy some more paint tomorrow and pics will be posted.

Still to do: Fill in some gaps between the wood and panels
get some high density foam spray. Gonna try something
Find some like color carpet

Almost done.

Here is a HUGE tip for anyone working with spray on foam. Make sure you have acetone nearby when using it. This crap does not come off your hands:pissed:

It fit like a glove. Now I'm glueing the sides. You were right, it's a pain in the ass.

Did you add more foam to that?

socalmach
09-26-2007, 12:43 PM
Yep. I ended up putting plastic wrap around the plastic panel that sits on top of that and filled any gaps with more foam.It was easier than trying to foam to the shape.

Test fit the vertical piece looked good.

Final pics for Dave later this afternoon.

Here ya go. It's a bit dirty and I still need to take off about a 1/4" from the bottom of the vertical portion. Once that is done the plastic top will bolt right in like stock.
