Ok, some know the story. I pulled my car out of the woods after sitting there for a few years to start the resurrection. When I pulled it out, the front calipers were locked up. Went to PNP and got another set. Installed them, and they were functional. Got the car to a running condition, and noticed I had some brakes, until the booster bled off the vacuum, and then I had to stand on them. They did stop the car, and I've driven the car about 100 miles this way. Finally went to PNP and got another booster. Put it in, and the brakes worked fine, until after about 3 hard stops. I noticed a dragging feeling, and it was the front brakes smoking. Cracked the line at the master cylinder, and fluid shot out. Brakes were free at that point. Read about the lines possibly causing a line lock effect, so changed the lines. Same deal, brakes locking up but the car did stop better. Thought #1 is the calipers are locking up, because the new booster is pushing more fluid and the calipers are actually going to full stop. Thought #2 is something is wrong with the master cylinder causing the said line lock effect. Thought #3 is the booster I put in is somehow faulty, though it feels like it's functioning correctly. I have the 1LE calipers, slides and pads for the front but don't want to put them on til the current issues are fixed. I don't want to put new calipers on it only to pull them off to put on the big brakes. I'll probably do this option because I don't have the $120 adapter bracket, rotors, bearings, and other things needed for the 1LE install. I have ordered a new master cylinder, and it'll go in anyways, even if it's not broken. Never let a car sit, is my conclusion.

This is the IROC.

If you have residual pressure at the master I would think it would be the problem.

Joe, that was our first thought. After the leaky booster, that is. I'm hoping it comes in soon, so I can get that shyte swapped.

Swapped master cylinder, no change. Swapped front calipers, no change. Was thinking about the proportioning valve, when logic struck. What was the last thing we changed? The booster. Unbolted the master cylinder from the booster, and the brakes released themselves. Put it back on, same deal. Turns out, the rod that goes from the booster to the master cylinder was 3/8" too long. Cut it down, rounded the end, and the brakes are working fine. Go figure.

Well done Tony. We all have to do some modifications here and there.
