View Full Version : Fiero Coil Over Project - Rescheduled for 11/17
Due to issues with my Firebird and now purchasing an Explorer, the coil over conversion is getting delayed by 1 week until 11/17. We will be doing diagnostics on the F-body and tuning up the Explorer instead. Still, let me know if interested in hanging out while that's going on.

On the 17th, I can help out in the morning and part of the afternoon; I have a prior engagement at 3. Also, how late will yall be working on the 10th? Weather-pending, I'm going to be racing at VMP from 12pm to 5ish
Hope you can bring the scanner over Chris. Let me know when. Really need to figure out what's wrong with this thing.

Very nice!
Now if someone only had longer springs LOL
As you can see from the pics the location of the spring perch was in question. I've found that the kit was designed for stock spring perch height. In order to resolve this I'm replacing the springs with longer ones - change from 7" to 12" which will works at the lower position (on the bracket) rather than the spring perch.:rolling:

Did you get hte new springs yet?
Springs came in Wednesday and fixed the issue. I'll be posting picks tomorrow probably. Looks good but the shorter spring would have made for a lighter overal package. Not a huge difference but something to consider.

Sweet!
:PiCS:
Okay, here's a picture of a finished coil over. I've got to the a couple things sorted out in the garage (like a heating source for 1) and then I'll get these mounted on the craddle and get the engine back in the car. Christmas is only 2 weeks away and I have 2 weeks off during the holidays, so I'm DEFINITELY going to get this done. Anyone for some egg nog or cider???

I sure wish I were closer! Mine needs coilovers... (I need eggnogg, too)
It was actually a pretty easy project. I could replicate it in about 2 hours now that I've got a better idea what I'm doing. I made a few mistakes but it all came together in the end.
