Put the ground wire on the seat stud
Put the red wire in the fuse labeled "TCS bat" and put the fuse back in
Plugged the e-cutout motor in
Put the car in run position
Flipped the switch, and not a thing happened.
So then I did this
Cut the wires leading to the ashtray light
Put the black wire from the cutout switch on the black wire from the light
Put the red wire from the cutout switch on the gray wire from the light
Turned the car on
turned on the lights
flipped the switch, and not a thing happened.
Suggestions?

Did you test the cut out before it was installed? It may be bad. I am not sure that the light wireing has enough power to run a cutout.

yea, i tested it off the battery, and the motor's good. Turned out the fuse in the red wire was blown...swapped it out, and now i can be loud and trashy at the flick of a switch :D
It might be overkill, but I'd suggest you add a solenoid to control the cutout and run it directly off the battery then you'd have full current to the cutout and not be stealing power from antoher system. It would be a little bit more wiring, but I'm pretty sure it would fix your problem and would be the best way to run the circuit. Either I or Joe could definitely help you wire it up if you need some help. Joe probably has more experience with wiring tho.

Yes that would be the best way. I am haveing to do that as a head light conversion for the IROC this week.

if you want to take a crack at it sometime, you're more than welcome too..right now, the wire coming out of the switch and with the fuse on it tore, so now i have to find a replacement for that whole little deal :[
