Default LS1 Nitrous Dyno Results

Finally got my car dyno'd last week at BV Performance. The guy that tuned my car won the true street class at the World Cup Finals a few weeks ago in Maryland (Bobby Parks). I have it jetted for a 150 and it put down 565 RWHP, and 628 RWTQ on a stock bottom end LS1. I am not completely happy with the tune, but it is close.

Basics on the car:
COMP 232-238/ 595-605 on a 112 LSA
Texas Speed LS6 Heads
LS6 Intake/ Stock Ported TB
Most Bolt-ons
Built T-56 Transmission
Midwest Chassis FAB 9 Inch w/ Spool

Weighs 3240 without me -- No Cage

The guy pissed me off because I only wanted it tuned for the nitrous, and he put timing back in the car after he finished. He throught that I would just pull the timing when I wanted to make a nitrous pass. I don't have a timing tuner, so I am going to have to repay someone to pull timing for me.

It was a rushed install. I installed the kit, and he did all of the wiring and dyno'd it for me.

just buy as timing tuner then you can have the best of both worlds and its plug and play.

Buy HPTuners and pull some timing yourself. I have a HSW interface unit that will trick the IAT to being 155 degrees when you spray nitrous so all you have to do is alter your IAT temp vs timing table to pull x number of degrees at 155 degrees. I ran mine that way and never had an issue with any of it.

I called a shop today and asked how much they would charge just to pull the timing. He said 200.00. That is crazy! I would prefer to just buy HP tuners for an extra $250.00. Heck, I can get a timing tuner for around $50.00.

I just laughed and thanked them for taking my car.

For the $200 you could get a new ignition module and pull the timing out with the box without paying anyone anything. Have the box only pull the timing when the input (nitrous) is triggered and no more issues, nitrous or not. Has the advantage of not pulling timing in the lower RPM before you spray if you're leaving at a lower RPM. Just a though.
